The Smithy Whitchurch Road Bangor-on-Dee
The Smithy on Whitchurch Road was run by the Spoor Family.  It is difficult in these days to understand just how important the village blacksmith was prior to the throw-away society.  Until the advent of motor transport most of each working day would be occupied in keeping the local horses shod.  Most blacksmiths would also make and repair tools and plough sheers for the local farmers.  The premises are now occupied by the village hairdresser and are still recognisable.
