Swans on the River Dee Bangor-on-Dee North Wales View 2
Swans on the River Dee Bangor-on-Dee North Wales.  Many other birds can be seen from the banks of the River Dee.  Herons and several species of duck are a common site.  The banks in places where they are shear are home for vast colony's of Sand Martins.  They feed while in flight and make entertaining viewing with spectacular aerobatic manoeuvres as the feed on insects rising from the river.  Much less common is the Kingfisher, a pair were nesting near to where this photograph was taken.
